Early Meadow Rue

Thalictrum dioicum

Description:

At maturity, it will have clusters of long-stemmed, drooping, greenish-white flowers atop leafy stems.

Habitat:

These plants were just popping up through the leaf litter in a mixed forest.

Notes:

The species name is derived from the Greek word meaning "two households", which alludes to the fact that the male and female flowers are on separate plants.
