Description:

Largest wader, with unmistakable very long, evenly decurved bill. Uniformly streaked and barred grey-brown, with no outstanding plumage features.

Habitat:

Breeds in taiga on open bogs or arable fields along rivers, on wide coastal (usually wet) meadows, wide pastures, arable plains with patches of wet meadows, moorland. Often wary during breeding.

Notes:

First time I've seen a curlew in a field!
