Yes, they look similar indeed. Opadometa fastigata is also recorded in "Spiders of India" guide book. EOL has a record of this species but Wikipedia doesn't have any. I hope there is a trusted reference we could use.

I don't know about this species but I do know one spider that looks similar to it, it is the Opadometa fastigata. Probably they are from the same genus.

@Alice.. i dont think tis is a jewel spider.. Mayb itz a golden orb weaver in itz juvenile stage.. Tis was just 1" approximately..:)
This looks like a jewel. Reminds me of a spider pin I bought with a bit of Amber in it.
