Noctuid moth

Hulodes caranea

Description:

This rather damaged-looking moth had a wingspan of 8 cm (3.1 inches).

Habitat:

Hills overlooking Manila.

Notes:

The 3rd photo was how I first spotted him. But his face was up against the wall, so I couldn't get a could shot from the front. Then he very obligingly flew up onto my knee and 'looked me in the eye'... :-)
