Description:

Resilient flowers with pink sections that grow low to the ground. They were spotted during a heatwave in which the maximum air temperature reached 110 degrees F this summer.

Habitat:

Spotted in the prairie at Colorado's Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, a generally arid landscape.

Notes:

An introduced species from Eurasia.
