Couroupita guianensis
Congrats Michael! I have a very large speciman in my yard that is likely 80 or more feet high. I love these trees...just don't walk to close to them when they have fruit!
Congrats Michael, your spotting has been chosen as Spotting of the Day!
"In today's Spotting of the Day, we check out the Cannonball Tree, which is so called because of its brown cannon-ball-like fruits. Cannonball Trees are used to cure colds and stomach aches. Juice made from the leaves has also been used by shamans to cure skin diseases."
