Green Darner Dragonfly

Anax junius

Description:

Large dragonfly. Caught in spider's web, I released it but injured. 76 mm (3 inches) at the very least. Wingspan 80 mm (3.1 in.) Beautiful colors. This photo has NOT been colored enhanced.

Habitat:

Meadow on our property (2-3 acres)

Notes:

Photos 1 and 2 - after releasing from spider's tangle. #3 - hanging there. Looking at me. Like take the photo quick and get me out of this mess. And third photo looks animated not real to me! An amazing sight!
