Description:

Beautiful spiny moth caterpillar. About 2 inches long, in the final or next to last instar.

Habitat:

Preserved pine rocklands.

Notes:

The only time I have seen this species in person (although caterpillars can be tough to find sometimes).

Good to hear that caterpillars are tough to find. I do not have much luck with them!!
