Red-winged blackbird

Description:

The eyes, feet and bill are all black. The bill is sharp and the tail is round. The male is bigger than the female. The female is 17-18 cm long. The male is 22-24 cm long. The male bird has a darker epaulet edged with white. The female are either tricolored, bicolored, red shouldered or red winged.

Habitat:

This bird is found in North and Central America. The blackbird lives in grasslands. The bird is seen in southern Alaska to the Yucatan peninsula. They start to migrate in September to October.
