Round-headed Desert Buckwheat

Description:

This was an amazingly large plant that was about 6 ft in diameter. Clustered yellow flower heads. The leaves are small and slightly hairy.

Habitat:

Spotted at the edge of one of the ancient lakes near the Columbia River in central Washington State. The area is an oasis in the desert region of central Washington.
