Rattlesnake plantain

Goodyera pubescens

Description:

The leaves are variegated and stick close to the ground. When flowering a stock is sent up about 10 inches high with a few small orchid blossoms on it.

Notes:

The common name of this plant is a misnomer. It is really an orchid, not a plantain. Must remember to go back in the spring/summer and see the orchid blossoms.
