Yes, pseudo-pupil.
this image is not photoshopped. This picture was taken by Giesle on Mantidforum.net.http://www.scottcromwellphoto.com/Photos/Praying-Mantises/i-tRSmXtV/0/O/Stranger%20In%20Town.jpg

Have you ever noticed how the little black eye pupil rolls around and follows you? I didn't notice until I took some photos myself of a mantis, and with each and every shot the pupil was fixed on me. Quite amazing. Great photos, Dhirendra.

Actually i don't know the verities of the insects and it's categories. but one of my frn suggest about it. but i am sure, these kinds of mantis are available in Nepal.
i also took a snap of another mantis too but due to time i am bot able to post it. But i am so happy that you are so curious out it... thanks a lot..

Really! I did not see any Sphodromantis on the list of Mantodea from India so anywhere farther from Africa I thought would not have Sphodromantis. Maybe Sphodromantis viridis is introduced to your area. If Nepal's climate is harsh I would not be very surprised if there are very few kinds of mantids.

Where did you read that Sphodromantis viridis lives in Nepal?

Looks different from the Sphodromantis pictures I have seen. Are Sphodromantis even found out of Africa? Beautiful mantis!
