Two turtles in this photo. The turtle with the clay on the shell is a different turtle.
Pretty neat! I saw vultures in the area walking in the grass and wondered if they might be snacking on the hatchlings. Hmm
The spot on his lower shell is where the embryo was attached to the yolk sac, it's sort of the reptile version of a belly button.
