Honey Fungus

Description:

A group of large, yellow-brown to dark brown mushroom-like growths covered in dark hairy scales may emerge from the base of the stem or trunk in the autumn. There is a strong distinctive mushroom smell.

Habitat:

We can find Honey Fungus on living or dead trees or shrubs.

Notes:

I found this group in my back yard. I need to be careful those guys can attack other trees and cause a lot of damage. I have old walnut tree trunk nearby and it seams I found those fellas there as well.
