Gray Squirrel

Sciurus carolinensis

Description:

Florida Squirrel on a Palm trunk. The light makes him look brown, but he is more gray. Notice that he looks thinner than his Northern neighbors. He does not have to put on so much fat for our Florida winters.

Habitat:

Woods, Suburbia as long as they have large trees. Ours often eat the Palm nuts. But they also love to hang over the feeder when I put seeds out in the winter.
