Herpailurus yagouaroundi
Camera trap of our semi-arboreal cat. LC according to those in the know, but we've only seen this one so far and it made us whoop. Gradually ticking off all the mammals that are 'supposed' to be here.
Forests, genarally. Have quite a large range, covering a lot of S. America. Have been seen way up in the trees but spend a lot of their time on the forest floor.
OK. I've put up the cheating, cropped one.

Excellent!
Wow!! Brilliant Capture
Hi ccm7, Juan's right, the jaguarundi is quite different from the jaguar. I'll add a link so that you can find out more about these cats. It is assumed that the amazon is crawling with them, so despite habitat loss and being hunted for their fur they are listed as 'Least Concern' by IUCN.
It is not a jaguar, its a rare cat specie that lives in the amazon region too.
I've never seen a jaguar,So cool!
I know, it's a shame they're not as well known as the other cats. Turns out they're LC too, not NT.
What a catch! I have never heard of these until now :)
I have now added the cheating, cropped shot
great photo, its a extremely difficult animal to capture
What a beautiful creature! I think the shot could be improved by a little cropping though!
I don't know what are you talking about because I like what you captured! :)
We call it "Onza" in Colombia.
Not a spectauclar shot, but there's only one other Jaguarundi on here and I think they deserve a bit more attention.
