Green-breasted Mango

Anthracothorax prevostii

Description:

A medium size hummingbird with a short tail. The body was very green - brighter on the belly than on the back - and a bluish head.

Habitat:

This hummingbird, and many others, knew exactly which little enclosed patio to drop in on for a feast of nectar - in the middle of a sizeable Guatemalan city on the lower slopes of a volcano. After a few minutes, just like the others before, it was time to move on again. I have no idea whence it headed.
