Thanks for the spotting of the day and the comments! Giant Anteaters are not too rare in the right habitat (grasslands and open woodlands) as long as there is not too much disturbance. They can become quite abundant if the conditions are right. I spotted several in the Rupununi savannas of Guyana and in parts of Brazil they are quite easy too.
Superb spotting! I tried a bunch of times to see these around the village of Aranaputa but with no luck. I didn't make it to Karanambu Ranch, but that seems to be the place to go.
