Sympetrum corruptum
Brown, yellow and white dragonfly. There are brown and yellow stripes behind the eye. The sides of the thorax have white stripes with yellow dots at the ends. On a Cape Honeysuckle branch in the backyard
Unfortunately it flew away before I could get a shot of the top to show the abdomen's pattern.
