Possibly male. Small 1/2 inch abdomen. Very colorful orange with yellow abdomen and 4 dimples in abdomen.

Difficult to remember the size, but quite small; under 1 1/2 inches total. I think it might be a young marbled or male marbled as indicated. Definitely same look as the photos and the same position. Thanks again for your help. I would not have thought marbled.

It's not a crab spider. I'm not certain, but I think it's a Marbled Orb Weaver, Araneus marmoreus. I can't tell gender from this pose.

I wonder if yours is just young and so hasn't developed all its markings yet.

It's pose is that of a Neoscona spider.
It's a male probably.
