Gray squirrel

Sciurus carolinensis

Habitat:

spotted under dead loquatin front yard

Notes:

I was in my yard watching the bees on the sunflowers when I heard the tell-tale sound of a squirrel gnawing a hickory nut. I turned to see this fellow busy with this large, old beef bone.
