Large furry pink caterpillar possibly a tussock moth. It has sewn three leaves togther to make itself a shelter.
Confirmation as a tussock moth as its next molt (pic3,pic4) reveals its four sets of "toothbrush" bristles. It has now pupated into a loose bundle of spines and silk. Watch this space. Update Feb 24. 2012 the female wingless moth emerged (see pic 5).

Atul, this pink one confused me until it molted and confirmed itself as a tussock moth. I have not found an ID but hope a male emerges so I can determine its species by its wings.
It's going well martin - looking good...
Thank you Stain
Fantastic pictures Martinl!
Here's another tussock moth but I'm still waiting for it to emerge from pupa
I've added pic of the pupa for this caterpillar. Awaiting arrival of the moth.
Great set of pics martinl : )
Yes the color is superb but was lost in its next molt (see set).
I think its too much red wine;)
Nice color
Good photo martinl - nice colour.
Pretty!!
Update! This guy has molted and is a tussock moth. If it is a male, it should be easy to identify but I don't like my chances. Pink? Hmmm...
