Most likely Culex mosquito larvae. They could be Aedes sp., but more likely Culex because they are notorious container breeders. The easiest way to tell the difference would be to look for the presence of egg rafts in the water (Culex mosquitoes lay their eggs in rafts, but Aedes lay eggs singly). It looks like there may be some egg rafts in a couple pictures, but it's hard to tell from the photos.
Yep, I know. The wind blew away the cover while we were away. From what I gathered on the web, those are typical mosquito larvae, so yuck! But I have also spotted a Notonecta and what seemed to be phryganea eggs.

Something pretty creepy like a Phantom Gnat pupa. I really do not know. Not a pool I would enter.
