Tarentola mauritanica
A plump, broad-tailed lizard with proportionately large eye with vertical pupils. Toes have adhesive pads along entire length of underside and these enable it to walk on walls and ceilings.
Fabours rocky places but also human habitation. Widespread in Iberia but mainly coastal across rest of Mediterranean.
Other names include Common or Moorish Wall Gecko and Salamanquesa, Crocodile gecko, European common gecko, and Maurita naca gecko.
