Eclectus roratus
Female Eclectus Parrot. Love the colour of these birds and the iridescence in the blue feathers
Tropical and subtropical rainforests of North Queensland, Papua New Guinea etc.

Sorry Steven, I couldn't remember exactly where I saw the bird, so I just put the location down as Australia; which seems to have defaulted to NSW. It was in North Queensland somewhere, however, so I'll update the location.
Hi, this is not the usual range of the eclectus parrot. Was this a captive bird?
I would have thought PN would have more spottings of this species. A simple search reveals 5 males (also spectacularly colored but differently) but this appears to be the first female (as a primary image anyway).
Sadly, I don't live anywhere near where these birds would be found in the wild. Saw this one whilst on holiday in Australia. Not uncommon in the pet trade, apparently.
Stupendous colours! ... If you have the chance to take any more photos of this bird - would love to the pictures! :-)
Must assign to Red colour mission too.
