Yeah I certainly can believe that, I've just looked it up on the Internet and it is indeed also found in the Netherlands. But I guess this one is a scleroderma citrinum because calvatia cyathiformis seems to be bigger and more white in color. But thank you for the information! :)
hi lizzy, i live in nl and with my book about nl- mushroom have i sorted out, a native nederlands species. de "calvatia cyathiformis" heft wel geen nl naam, maar is helemal "gewoon" hier. it is your decision, but i can tell you, both above mentioned species are common in nl. cheers good luck
Inderdaad ^ ^
Yes, Scleroderma citrinum=aardappelbovist :-)
Thank you ThePinappleMan and AlexKonig! I think it might be scleroderma citrinum because calvatia cyathiformis is mostly found in America and Australia, while I found this one in the Netherlands
the scleroderma citrinum has little spotts in the crust-like patterns. i doubt the S citrinum
It could be
earthball
Scleroderma citrinum
from the size (compared to the leafs) and the structure, i suspect: calvatia cyathiformis ( C.lilacina / C. fragilis ). there is no common nl name. it is surely a member of the fam: lycoperdaceae / bovista(ceae)
