Rob Dean said "as far as I know it's only been found at Stanley and Anson's Bay" and when i looked on the Tas spiders site , it does say that species are found near the beach...so as much as i would like to agree ..Launceston is far from beach habitat...the site has so many photo's of them ..but alot with no specific species just listed under the Salticidae family . Learning curve ..to make sure i get pics of the back , side and front :)

Although you only have a face view it's so clear and I think you have a match with Jurgen Otto's female Maratus tasmanicus
