the visible mushroom is just an fruiting-body of the actually underground lying fungi (mycelium). as long as you dont excravate them or tear them violently out, they will survive. next time (as long as they are still more specimen) you can use one specimen to get al features or you just slide you camera under ( when it can?) it.

i suspect, this one had pores and no gills? when so, take a look at the fam: boletaceae. Can you remember or have you even looked beneath the cap?
