Spotting

I wish I could say John was right or I was right. When I study the photo and the photos from the Cornell Meotropical birds site I see them both right. The distribution for both is correct. What is throwing me off is the backround leaves on the tree which add some color to the speciman on the left side. Maybe it is the green wing reflecting in the light of the Tangara or it is a leaf. I see the color of the head the same as the Tangara when I look at the Tangara photo and the same as the Flowerpiercer when I look at that photo. You were the only one there. You know what you saw. Go with your instinct. The most important is that you are sure so the species is placed correctly on the sighting.
