Bird’s Nest fungus

Description:

Bird's nest fungus has fruiting bodies that resemble a birds nest filled with eggs. Crucibulum are saprobic; they feed on decomposing organic matter such as wood and in surrounding soils enriched with wood chips or bark mulch.

Habitat:

Decayed wood and wood debris such as stems, twigs, wood chips & old nut shells.
