French Grunt

Haemulon flavolineatum

Description:

Bright blue eyes, brown stripe horizontally across the middle of the fish with white and yellow jagged lines above and below the midsection.

Habitat:

The warm, clear waters of the Southwestern Caribbean, along the shore of a tiny Colombian island. These fish rush out from under the dock to dart in between the legs of a vendor who sells shrimp cups to tourists landing on the island - he is chopping constantly, and drops the leftover pieces in the water, which is where the fish chow down.
