Flower Chaffer beetle

Oxycetonia versicolor

Description:

It is a small sized beetle. The head is small and black in colour. Protonum- is maroon or reddish with two black vertical line or spots towards the anterior end and there is a black horizontal black line towards the posterior end near scutellum. Scutellum- blackish. Elytra- edges are black and reddish vertical thick vertical line at the centre and each elyta has four goldenish horizontal spots. The legs has goldenish hairs (setae- sensitive to touch, taste, smell, light), legs- blackish. Abdomen- on lateral sides has 5 golden spots or lines.

This beetle was encountered last night in the house.
