Small Octopus

Notes:

Spotted this small octopus trying to conceal itself in the sand. Mantle is about an inch long. Managed to get it out and it clung into a small rock just so we can photograph it. Not the best shots though. Appreciate any help on ID. Spotted in Secret Bay, Batangas duing a dusk/night muck dive. Depth of about 8m

Thanks Ann. I believe he was. I think I would too if I were in his place - what with 8 divers ogling at him. And yes, we was burying himself on the sand trying to get away :-)

Great photo series! Looks like he's clinging onto that rock for dear life! In the last photo - is he trying to dig down somewhere so he can hide?
