Callirhipis cardwellensis
This insect was going up the wall inside the house
Hello Viv! Fabulous beetle. Not too sure about the accuracy of the ID though. Whilst the fan like appendages are similar to those on Melolontha, this is a very different beetle to your average European Cockchafer. It does look a lot like the Callirhipis in both ChunXingWong's link and the Flickr pic that is linked from it.....
uauuu!great cach, more than our imagination could imagine, completly allien aspect, beautiful spotting Viv
Viv... you have suggested your own spotting correctly... but not updated.... This is cock-chafer beetle

Apparently it is under the Callirhipis genus.
Hope this might be helpful.
Thanks Ashish! I looked through one website but could'nt find one exactly like this so was'nt sure what to do. Not really that clued up on a bugs, although should be with all the spottings I'm finding here. Learning something new everyday since joining PN

Thanks for the suggestion Dan. Managed to get a couple of i.d's from thaibugs site - brilliant site by the way : ), but did'nt manage to find this one
Amazing antennae! It does look similar to Rhipiphoridae.
I found a great site for ID of Thai insects.

Just wondering if this could be Rhipiphoridae .. body looks the same but antennae different ......... http://www.ozanimals.com/Insect/unknown/...
Beautiful antennas.
As far as I know, Ptilinus and Sandalus beetles have branched antennas like that.
But those are American beetles, I hope I can find the right ID some day in an Asian reference.
