Colletid Bee

Hylaeus nubilosus

Description:

A small masked bee with its bright yellow patch on the back busy building a mud nest in a metal door frame.

Habitat:

Suburban garden/door

Notes:

The picture is fuzzy but I had to document this as I've never seen this little masked bee building its nest before now. I have spotted them on flowers feeding on pollen as seen here
https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/17...
It is stated that they swallow the pollen and transport it back to the nest to feed their young. Hence, colletids are not as furry as some bees that collect pollen on their bodies.
Family: Colletidae
Here's information about masked bees.
