Bush Turkey or Australian Bustard

Description:

The Australian Bustard is one of Australia's largest birds. It is a mainly grey-brown bird, speckled with dark markings, with a pale neck and black crown, with a slight crest and a white eye-brow. There are bold black and white markings on the wing. This species is also called the Plains Turkey or Wild Turkey.

Habitat:

Kimberley Grasslands

Not a great photograph but they are hard to catch.

Thanks Neil. Ive seen a few but have yet to get a good shot. I've seen lots of feathers as our local indigenous population hunt them.

I would love to see one of these. I've heard they are shy and elusive, so you've done well to get a pic.
