I've moved this snail from the Arthropods category to the Other category for you. Arthropods have exoskeletons, a segmented body and jointed legs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthropod

5 whorls,large shell ,most likely a helix species. Do you have limestone in Georgia?:
