Jelly Ear Fungus

Auricularia auricula

Description:

Strange small flower like fungi with a hardened jelly type feel. It has the look of some Witches Butter Fungi, but it is Jelly Ear.

Habitat:

Woodlands of the Poconos

Notes:

Two days later it was all dried up.

I very often buy this fungus in the market here in Thailand. It's good in stir fry and soups

It looks a lot like Witches butter, but the color isn't in any guide. The Jelly Ear photos look like "ears", but found finally some internet photos that look just like my photo and identified as Jelly Ear Fungus. Thanks Jess and Aunt Nance.
