A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Macaca thibetana
Yeah I agree, I prefer that this animals learn to coexist with humans than to become extinct. Its sad that they can only have this two options
This photo was taken in Emei Shan National Park in Sichuan, China. This is a world heritage site and the Chinese Government has put this primate under strict protections. Since this is a Chinese National Park it receives an enormous volume of visitors per year. Therefore, the monkeys have lost most of their wild instincts and steal from people for food. It is quite sad to see such a majestic animal become a thief but if this means the survival of the species then it is for the best.
Wow. That's an amazing spotting. I'm sure the community would like to know more about your spotting of this near threatened primate. Can you provide more information on your spotting in the description, habitat and/or notes information blocks? Thanks!
