Pale Gecko with slit eyes and rough skin.
Found in hollow log in Australian outback
Thanks Jolly Ibañez. I think yours is different because it is a flatter species than mine. I think many gecko lizards can change colors.
I wonder if your spotting could be the same as the ones we have here in the Philippines. They change color according to habitat (protective coloration or camouflage) http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/122...
Yes, I think this is correct. Thank you. I've looked at a few and I am not confident to decide which species.
That's an old shed skin that was beside the gecko in its log. (We were breaking dry wood for the fire and destroyed his home:( Please don't tell anyone;) )
Forgot to ask martinl - what is the white filmy stuff? was it wrapped in it?
Yes, the outback seems unlikely. Its skin is thin but like coarse sandpaper, not like the ones I usually see down south. The circular ridges along the tail are consistent with my proposed ID.
If you live in a log ? Most geckos hate the sunlight. It looks really thin-skinned and soft but you say rough skin. Interesting part of the world you found it in.
