a small spider with scorpion like claws
Thanks a tonne raiyan.your information gave me a great insight into both understanding a species and also in identifying it. and to top it all you guys showed the way. thanks again for all the help you guys have showered on me
Very nice catch indeed!! I must admit I haven't seen this sp. here in Bangladesh. The body structure is identical to some species from the genus Chrysilla and also Bavia.. I'll certainly look for refs. to get a better idea.. But I very much agree with Chun.. With very limited resources available on the web and very few works done in this sub-continent it would be hard to find an exact match..
Hey people please do check my facebook fan page and do comment, i would really love to hear what you guys think about my photographs

interesting fella ... jumping spider, but you could ask raiyan ahmed - http://www.projectnoah.org/users/Raiyan+... - he is keen on jumping spiders, has a great collection, has also many sp. not yet identified or maybe unknown species.
and welcome to project noah, hope to see more of your work :)
You are certainly right there CXW. In Australia it is estimated 20,000 species and only 2,800 are identified.
I'm not sure about that because there is no reliable reference so far.
Wikipedia didn't mentioned any Bavia species in India.
It is possible because I believe that scientists have not yet discovered and recorded all the species of spiders in the world.
Hey Chun thanks a lot man, by the way are u sure that this might be a new and undiscovered species
Bavia genus, that is the best I can help you with.
It may be a new species.
