Larinoides cornutus
Unknown but possibly a type of Skull Spider (see abdomen). About 1 1/2 inches in length. Very scary and very active. Protecting its food source. Nocturnal orb weaver. I caught it out!
On the house near wooded area.

Great spotting carol! I was unable to ID him when you posted originally.
Yes, it likes earwigs. Eric helped me with ID. I never saw it before because it usually hides during the day. A nocturnal orb weaver, Stian. So excited. Discovered a new one this late in the season. Awesome!
Awesome spider Carol, does he eat something like a Earwig (Dermaptera)?
