Arachnis picta
These baby caterpillars just emerged from the eggs laid by a Painted Tiger Moth 26 days earlier at spotting: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/771.... The caterpillars are eating what's left of the eggs. They all have silk that anchors them to the leaf so they don't fall off. There was a second set of eggs that the moth laid one day ofter the hatched ones that appear purple (last image). You can see the hairs through the nearly translucent eggs.

Thank you KarenL :)
Great series!
Thanks textless and Leuba. Documenting species is what Project Noah is all about. I try to get 360 degree views whenever I can as well as different stages of life. I was lucky that this moth laid eggs at my home!
great photography and documentation
Fantastic! It's great to see the next stage of their lives.
