Pseudopus apodus
Sheltopusik, also known as Pallas' glass lizard, is a large legless lizard - this one was rather small, about 60cm in length, mainly brown with light brown head.
This is a very useful (and very discreet) member of our garden, feeding on mice, snails and slugs, and probably other lizards as well. Here, the poor fellow probably got disturbed by guys cutting the grass and flowers (and against my wishes...), normally these terraces are overgrown in beautiful dense carpet of spontaneous Mediterranean herbs and melliferous flowers. Located at outskirts of Dubrovnik, on lower slopes of Srdj mountain, the garden is terraced and covered in Mediterranean fruit trees and spontaneous vegetation.
