Late Fall-Oyster Mushroom

Sarcomyxa serotina

Description:

Pleurotoid, amyloid, white and allantoid spored, ± olivaceous or brownish lignicolous agaric with inrolled margin and punctate lateral stipe; with big ± clavate cheilocystidia

Notes:

found growing on a dead Red Alder tree. Edible, but they are tough and must be slow cooked over low heat.
