Zebra Mantis Shrimp

Description:

Also known as Spearing Mantis Shrimps, Striped Mantis Shrimp, Banded Mantis Shrimp, Bumble Bee Mantis Shrimp and Giant Mantis Shrimp. They feed on fish, squid and invertebrates, and grow to a length of about 38cm. Mantis shrimp are rarely seen out of their holes, and they share their space with cleaner shrimp.

Habitat:

Found in pairs in a very large hole in the sand and rubble near to reefs. Widespread in the Indo-Pacific region.
