Description:

Black bear are observed throughout the year in Big Bend National Park. These bears were all observed in the High Chisos Basin.

Habitat:

Oak and madrone trees with scrubby desert plants. Feeding on acorns and madrone berries

Notes:

While conducting my Grad research, I was able to observe hours of bear behavior. It was an amazing experience!
