Asian Koel (pair, video)

Eudynamys scolopaceus

Description:

The male and the female look very different. The male is a jet black...well, blue-black with ruby eyes. the female looks more sparrow-hawkish and is speckled.

Habitat:

My terrace. Usually two males battle it out...the one here is the older male. The female drives away the bird that is feeding and is quite aggressive (as you can see in the video...she captures the entire fruit) but never approaches if I am near...today she made an exception.

Sexual dimorphism is no interesting. Great video. I can't wait to get my bird feeder set up on return to Omaha, NE, USA. Last year I saw 23 different species in just 5 months. Thanks for sharing Sukanya
