BluberryLily -- since you're in SD, this month and next month are the perfect time to go to the zoo and get all your aloe questions answered. They have many aloe gardens all over the zoo, and they have a lot of signs identifying the plants.

This is called red-hot poker, but it isn't a lily (check the leaves), it's in the aloe family. It may not be the exact species I have Id'd it as. There are so many species of aloe!
