Pluteus Mushroom

Description:

A large, wood-decomposing saprobic mushroom. Gills were free from the stem and there was no volva or ring. The cap was tan/brown, gills and stem were white.

Habitat:

Growing on decaying wood in a mixed forest, but in an area dominated by pine.
